Sal <br />RESOLUTION NO. 98 -017 <'{ <br />WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, provides funding for <br />Criminal Justice Planning Fund (421 Fund) grants, through the Ark -Tex Council of Governments, <br />which provide funds for the continuation of a juvenile officer \juvenile gang officer; and, <br />WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Paris is desirous of processing a grant <br />application for the Criminal Justice Planning Fund (421 Fund) grant, for continuing a juvenile <br />officer /juvenile gang officer for the funding period from September 1, 1998, to August 31, 1999, <br />at a total cost of $43,086.00, with $16,982.00 to be provided by a grant and $26,104.00 to be <br />provided by the City of Paris in the form in of local matching funds; and, <br />WHEREAS, the application has heretofore been submitted to the Ark -Tex Council of <br />Governments, to be hereafter submitted to the Office of The Governor, Criminal Justice Division, <br />in the form of Exhibit A attached hereto; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: <br />1. That an application be made to the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice <br />Division, for a Criminal Justice Planning Fund (421 Fund) grant, for continuing a juvenile <br />officer /juvenile gang officer for the funding period from September 1, 1998, to August 31, 1999, <br />in the approximate amount of $16,982.00, being approximately 39.41 % of the estimated cost of <br />this crime prevention program, with the City of Paris providing $26,104.00 in the form of <br />matching funds. <br />2. That Michael E. Malone, City Manager of the City of Paris, be, and he is hereby, <br />appointed as the Authorized Official of said project and is authorized and directed to execute on <br />�--- behalf of the City of Paris the application for grant in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A. <br />3. That Karl Louis, be, and he is hereby, appointed as Project Director and is hereby <br />authorized to execute and deliver on behalf of the City of Paris all reports, communications, <br />assurances and documents necessary for the completion of said project. <br />4. That W. E. Anderson, Director of Finance, be, and lie is hereby, authorized and <br />directed to serve as the Financial Officer for said project and to receive and distribute funds for <br />purposes of the Criminal Justice Planning (421) Program. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that, in the event of loss or misuse of grant funds, the <br />City Council of the City of Paris hereby assures the Criminal Justice Division that funds will be <br />returned to the Criminal Justice Division in full. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of February, 1998. <br />Eric S.
