Mayor Clifford called for the City Attorney's report and there was none.
Mayor Clifford called for the City Manager's report. City Manager Malone mentioned
the memorandum that he had given to each of the Councilmembers prior to the
meeting from the Chief of Police announcing the achievement of an overall 15.2%
decrease in crime. He said that the report reflects that each category is down
substantially. Mr. Malone said in recent years the City Council has dedicated
additional resources, manpower and equipment to this area and this report
demonstrates that the Police Department has utilized these resources in a very
efficient manner. City Manager Malone and Mayor Eric Clifford commended the
Chief and all of his department on this achievement.
Councilman Neeley recommended to the Mayor that a resolution be placed on the
February 10, 1997 Council Meeting Agenda commending the entire City Justice
System. City Attorney Haynes stated that a resolution could be presented at that
time.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
Eric S. Clifford, Mayor
ATTEST:
Barbara Denny
79-1
