't <br />• t <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE <br />CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING CHAPTER 25, <br />ARTICLE II, OF SAID CODE TO ADD SECTIONS 25 -19 THROUGH 25 -24 THERETO; <br />AMENDING THE PLUMBING CODE TO INCLUDE THEREIN PROVISIONS RELATING TO <br />CROSS - CONNECTIONS AND BACKFLOW PREVENTION DEVICES; PROVIDING FOR A <br />PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $2,000.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF <br />ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF <br />FEBRUARY 1, 1997 <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Boyd, seconded by <br />Councilman Fulbright for adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried <br />5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 97 -006 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE <br />CODE OF ORDINANCE, CITY OF PARTS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING CHAPTER 26, <br />ARTICLE II, OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF THE <br />COMMANDING OFFICER OF THE POLICE RESERVE UNIT BY THE CHIEF OF POLICE; <br />PROVIDING FOR COMPLIANCE BY POLICE RESERVE OFFICERS WITH THE TEXAS <br />COMMISSION ON LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER STANDARDS AND EDUCATION; <br />PROVIDING STANDARDS FOR ACCEPTANCE INTO THE POLICE RESERVE UNIT; <br />PROVIDING ALLOWANCES FOR OFFICERS WHO ARE MEMBERS OF OTHER RESERVE <br />EMERGENCY ORGANIZATIONS PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE INTO THE POLICE RESERVE <br />UNIT; PROVIDING FOR MONTHLY MEETINGS AT THE POLICE STATION; REQUIRING <br />ATTENDANCE AT MONTHLY MEETINGS AND DEVOTION TO DUTY BY POLICE RESERVE <br />OFFICERS; PROVIDING RESERVE OFFICERS FURNISH A .32 CALIBER OR LARGER <br />REVOLVER; PROVIDING STANDARDS FOR CARRYING A WEAPON; PROVIDING METHODS <br />FOR TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF <br />ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF <br />FEBRUARY 1, 1997 <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Boyd, seconded by <br />Councilwoman Elder for adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried 5 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 97 -007 <br />AN ORDINANCE CONTAINING A HEARING ON PROPERTIES LOCATED IN THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, BELONGING TO VARIOUS OWNERS, AND AN ORDINANCE OF <br />THE CITY COUNCIL FINDING THE MATERIALS REMAINING ON THE PREMISES TO <br />CONSTITUTE A NUISANCE AND TO BE A FIRE HAZARD TO LIFE AND PROPERTY AND <br />A HAZARD TO THE LIFE AND WELFARE OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE AREA, AND <br />ORDERING SAID RUBBISH, LUMBER AND REFUSE FROM THE STRUCTURES TO BE TORN <br />DOWN AND REMOVED FROM THE PREMISES IN ORDER TO ABATE SUCH NUISANCE, <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF FEBRUARY 1, 1997 <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Fulbright, seconded by <br />Councilwoman Elder for adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried 5 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Malone announced that the next item on the agenda was bids <br />for furnishing and delivery of uniforms for the City of Paris Fire <br />Department and Emergency Medical Service, and advised that only one bid <br />
