769
additional pre - defined searches which include:
Subject (Description) Vehicle Description
Suspect (Address) Wants and Warrants
Arrested Persons (Type and Description) Criminal Records
Report Number Name Search
Citations
As with many of the other search procedures within CMS, the majority of these searches allow
the user to view the entire file for a selected case without exiting to another routine and without .
having to re -key the case number.
Special reports and searches allow investigators to pre- establish a list of incident types or names
and to execute batch searches as desired for any date range without re- entering the class codes
or names.
Names Files - The RMS module provides -an extensive capability for tracking comprehensive
information regarding individuals who come into contact with the agency. In order to assist the
investigator, the system provides the capability to accumulate such data as:
Complete Descriptions
Aliases
Known Associates
Scars, Marks, Tracks, Tattoos
Places Frequented
Present and Previous Residences
Present and Previous Employers
Alias Dates of Birth
Alias Social Security Numbers
Clothing
Jewelry
No limits exist on any of the above pieces of information. All appropriate fields are "table
driven" and are determined by each jurisdiction. The investigative tools allow for searching on
any of the previous or alias fields.
The name entry capability allows an automatic exit to a name search facility to reduce the
probability of duplicate name entries.
Wants and Warrants - The Wants and Warrants file makes use of the Names file for storing the
name and personal information, the Subject file for storing physical descriptions, and the Incident
file for maintaining related incident information. Using this format, wants and warrants which
are issued and which relate to incidents previously reported to the agency, may be directly linked
to the original call for service. Newly reported activity may be entered as new incidents
originating at the court.
Access to the wants and warrants portion of the system is provided by name, partial name,
address, and. other related characteristics of the name, subject and warrant records. Inquiries are
interactive in nature, providing response information'directly back to the requesting terminal. .
17
