<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE
<br />CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING CHAPTER 25,
<br />ARTICLE III, SECTIONS 25 -36- AND 25 -37 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR
<br />DELETIONS, MODIFICATIONS AND AMENDMENTS TO SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR A
<br />PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $2,000.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF
<br />ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF
<br />MARCH 1, 1996
<br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by
<br />Councilman Neeley for adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried 7

<br />ORDINANCE NO. 96 -012
<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE
<br />CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 2 -196
<br />OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF CHARGES FOR COPIES OF
<br />PUBLIC INFORMATION IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE PUBLIC INFORMATION ACT AND
<br />OTHER APPLICABLE LAWS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
<br />OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
<br />EFFECTIVE DATE OF FEBRUARY 12, 1996
<br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Fulbright, seconded by
<br />Councilman Hunt for adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried 7
<br />ayes, 0 nays.
<br />City Manager Malone announced that the next item on the agenda was
<br />consideration of and action on bids for furnishing and delivery of one
<br />(1) new 1996 4 -wheel drive extendahoe /loader for use in the Water /Sewer
<br />Division of the Public Works .Department, and upon several members of
<br />the City Council's questions regarding information that was furnished
<br />to them, it was his recommendation to table action on this item in
<br />order to give the Council time to meet with city staff and resolve the
<br />questions that they have, then place the item on a future agenda.
<br />A motion was made by Councilman Boyd, seconded by Councilman Fulbright
<br />to table action on the bids for one 1996 4 -wheel drive
<br />extendahoe /loader. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays.
<br />City Manager Malone advised the Council that the next item on the
<br />agenda was furnishing and delivery of one new police vehicle for the
<br />Paris Police Department, that there was bid forms mailed to five
<br />vendors, and one bid was received, that being from Lowry Chevrolet in
<br />the amount of $17,126.00, and further advised that this bid meets all
<br />specifications.
<br />A motion was made by Councilman Fulbright to award the bid to Lowry
<br />Chevrolet in the amount of $17,126.00. The motion was seconded by
<br />Councilman Boyd, and carried 7 ayes, 0 nays.
<br />City Manager Malone announced that the next item on the agenda was
<br />consideration of and action on the a resolution accepting amendment to
<br />the Visitors & Convention Council Budget for the year ending September
<br />30, 1996, and suggest that this item be tabled as request by Mr. Gary
<br />Vest.
<br />A motion was made by Councilman Hunt, seconded by Councilman Boyd to
<br />table action on amendment to the Visitors & Convention Council Budget
<br />for the year ending September 30, 1996. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0
<br />nays.
<br />Resolution No. 96 -008, resolving that the bid of Express Lube, for
<br />furnishing of labor and materials and performing all work required for
<br />servicing City of Paris vehicles is hereby accepted and let,
<br />conditioned upon said contractor meeting all the terms and
<br />specifications included in the bid documents, and authorizing the
<br />Mayor, Eric S. Clifford, to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the
<br />contract for furnishing of labor and materials and performing all work
<br />required for servicing City of Paris vehicles, was presented. A motion
<br />was made by Councilman Jenkins, seconded by Councilman Bell for
<br />approval of the resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays.
