Specific Facility Standards (Elmhurst, Illinois)' <br />Neiahborhood Plavlot <br />Size: At least 1 acre preferred <br />Service Area: 1/4 mile or less <br />Location: High density neighborhoods where private yards do not exist. <br />Usual facilities: Paved areas; playground apparatus area for small children-, <br />usually private responsibility. <br />Neighborhood Park <br />Area per 1,000 persons: 3 acres <br />Size: 5 -10 acres, not including parking <br />Service Area.- 1/2 mile or as limited by geographical barriers <br />Location: Preferably adjacent to elementary schools or near the center <br />of the neighborhood. <br />Usual Facilities: Softball/baseball fields, multiple -use paved areas, playground <br />apparatus areas, landscaped areas, and picnic areas.
