A motion was made <br />award the bid to <br />The motion carried <br />by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Bell to <br />Tuxall Uniform Company, in the amount of $5,856.04. <br />6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Malone called for tabulations of bids for resurfacing four <br />tennis courts at Travis Junior High School, and the following bids were <br />presented: <br />Tennis Court Resurfacing <br />$12,900.00 <br />Edwards /McDonald Company <br />$13,880.00 <br />Dobbs Tennis Courts, Inc. <br />$12,800.00 <br />A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman <br />Shelton to award the bid to the low bidder, Dobbs Tennis Courts, Inc., <br />in the amount of $12,800.00. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Malone advised that only one bid had been received for <br />applying a 1 112" asphalt overlay on two tennis courts at Travis Junior <br />High School, that being from Drake Construction Company in the amount <br />of $6,710.00. City Manager Malone said Dick Boots, Director of <br />Community Facilities, recommended awarding the bid to Drake <br />Construction as it meets specifications. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman <br />Williams awarding the bid to Drake Construction Company, in the amount <br />of $6,710.00 for applying a 1 112" asphalt overlay on two tennis courts <br />at Travis Junior High School. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Shelton <br />to take a short break at 7:10 P. M. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />The Council meeting reconvened at 7 :20 P. M. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented a resolution approving the sublease <br />between the Red River Valley Fair Association and the Lamar County <br />Young Farmers for the tractor pull area located on the east side of the <br />fairgrounds. <br />During discussion, Mayor Fisher said he would like to disallow the <br />livestock that is located on portions of the land leased by the Young <br />Farmers. <br />Councilman Burnett questioned the parking areas at the fairgrounds <br />concerning the dust free parking ordinance that was passed by the <br />Council in 1989. <br />After further discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Shelton, <br />seconded by Councilman Burnett to table action on the resolution until <br />the above matter could be discussed with representatives from the Red <br />River Valley Fair Association. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 92 -017, ratifying the execution of a Municipal Lease and <br />Option Agreement with Capps Rent A Car, Incorporation by City Manager <br />Malone for rental of new and /or used vehicles, was presented. A motion <br />was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Brown for <br />approval of the resolution. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
