_ t <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90 -002 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council continues to support the Paris <br />Police Department in its efforts to effectively suppress drug <br />activity and related crimes in the City of Paris; and, <br />WHEREAS, a trained, narcotic detection tracking dog <br />would be useful in the City's drug suppression activity; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, citizens interested attaining a drug free <br />society have pledged to fund the purchase of such a dog; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris finds <br />that it is in the best interest of the citizens of Paris that <br />upon purchase of such a dog that it commit to the manning <br />and maintenance of such dog; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />That the Purchase Agreement in the amount of $3,500.00 with <br />Texas Canine, Incorporated, in the form of Exhibit A attached <br />hereto, is in all things approved; and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Mayor of the City of <br />Paris, Eric S. Clifford, be, and he is hereby authorized and <br />directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the <br />Purchase Agreement with Texas Canine, Incorporated, for the <br />purchase of a narcotic detection tracking dog, upon the terms <br />and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A attached <br />hereto. <br />Passed and adopted this 8th day of January, 1990. <br />ATTEST: <br />Mattie Cunningham, City lerk <br />APPROVED A.S TO FORM: <br />K'.,- Haynes/, City Attorney <br />Eric Clifford, — <br />
