E <br />SECTION 3 <br />MOBILE UNITS <br />Mobile radio units shall be designed and constructed as a rugged, <br />versatile, technically advanced state of the art FM two -way radio <br />operating in the 440 -470 Mliz. band. It shall be synthesized, wideband, <br />PC programmable, ruggedized (meeting MIL 810 C & D, U:S. Forest <br />Service and LIA specifications for operation in adverse environments), <br />capable of both tone and digital coded squelch operation on a per <br />channel basis, minimum of 2 channel capability (field expandable to <br />10 channel with dual priority channel scan) . Front mount units. <br />To compensate for existing future Flans and changing communications <br />needs the mobile radios should be of modular design to allow system <br />growth from two channels to as many as 16 channels with dual priority <br />scan. Field changing) of mounting options (front to remote) • : *. is <br />desired for flexibility in selecting the most convenient way to install <br />a radio in a vehicle. The radio should fit in stAndard dash spaces <br />provided L•y manufacturers of most vehicles for stereo equipment. <br />All controls should be ergonomically designed for simple operation, <br />and give you instant command of all radio functions. <br />Radio should perform self diagnostic test when switched on to ensure <br />all componets are functioning properly. <br />46 two channel modular expandable.rM two -way mobiles are required. <br />6 sixteen channel FM two -way Mobiles with dual priority scan are required. <br />52 quarterwave stainless steel 450 -470 mhz antennas with triple plated <br />brass nut, NMO mount, and minimum of 14 ft coaxial cable with <br />connector.are required. <br />Mobile units are to be installed in exis ting City of Paris vehicles. <br />ExistinU radio units and antennas, mounts, and cables shall be removed <br />with care and preserved with all accessories and hardware. <br />0 <br />
