234 <br />A motion was made by Councilman Worsham, seconded by Councilman Hoog to <br />continue the same level of service provided by the City of Paris <br />Emergency Medical Service. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays: <br />Mayor Burnett announced that action on directing the City Staff with <br />regard to a contract for providing Emergency Medical Service to Lamar <br />County. <br />Council Bone reported that the contract with Lamar County expired May <br />31, 1986, and after contacting the County, they expressed the desire to <br />continue with their participation, and by the contract we were <br />obligated to notify them, and they were to let the City know, then we <br />would have 20 days in which to come up with what rate of participation . <br />that we would like for them to participate. <br />After discussion, it was the consensus of the Council for the Ambulance <br />Service Committee to have a joint meeting with the Committee appointed <br />by the Commissioner's Court to work with the City on Ambulance, <br />Streets, and the Lamar County Health Unit to arrive at a workable <br />solution for each. <br />Mayor Burnett announced the next item on the agenda was action on <br />construction at Paris High School Site in violation of City Ordinance. <br />City Manager Doty told the Council that construction was in progress in <br />violation of City Ordinance. <br />Mayor Burnett told the Council that consideration and action would be <br />taken on item No. 5 which is on the Fire Flow Water Service to the <br />Paris Highs School Site at this time and come back to item No. 4. <br />Councilman Bone read a letter from the Gity of Paris written to the <br />Paris Ind. School District regarding the water lines. City Manager <br />Doty presented a map showing the water lines that were installed at <br />that time of construction of the High School. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Folmar to approach <br />Paris Jr. College and the Paris Ind. School District of the fact that <br />the City would construct a 12 inch line from A to C as shown on the <br />map and talk to them regarding their pro rata share of the cost, and <br />with their agreement proceed to put in the 12 inch line. After further <br />• discussion, th.e motion was seconded by Councilman Hoog and carried 7 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Burnett announced that the Council would go back to Item No. 4. <br />City Manager Doty suggested that a temporary Building Permit be issued <br />with the stipulation that no occupancy be allowed until the Fire Flow <br />is adequate to get the high School in compliance with the law. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Bone to authorize the temporary <br />building permit with the stipulation that no occupancy be allowed until <br />their Fire Flow is adequate to comply with the law. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Hoog and carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
