<br />RESOLUTION NO. 85 -027
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris does
<br />acknowledge the request of Cedric Townsend, Judge of the
<br />Municipal Court of the City of Paris, to be relieved of full
<br />time responsibility as Judge of said Municipal Court
<br />effective May 1, 1985; and,
<br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the
<br />City of Paris that Cedric Townsend be retained in an
<br />inactive status maintaining his qualifications, in order
<br />that he may serve in the absence of or disability of the
<br />regularly appointed Municipal Judge; and,
<br />WHEREAS, Thomas E. Hunt, III, is qualified to be
<br />appointed Municipal Judge of the City of Paris and he should
<br />be appointed effective May 1, 1985; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, was
<br />heretofore authorized to negotiate a professional service
<br />contract with Cedric Townsend and Thomas E. Hunt, III; NOW
<br />THEREFORE,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
<br />PARIS, That Cedric Townsend, be, and-he is hereby appointed
<br />inactive Municipal Judge effective May 1, 1985; and,
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That Thomas E. Hunt, III, be,
<br />and he is hereby appointed Municipal Judge of the City of
<br />Paris, effective May 1, 1985; and,
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Mayor of the City of
<br />Paris, Joe Graham, be, and he is hereby authorized and
<br />directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris, the
<br />Professional Services Contract for Municipal Judge of the
<br />City of Paris, upon the terms and conditions acid in the form
<br />shown in Exhibit A attached hereto, with Thomas E. Hunt,
<br />III; and,
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Mayor of the City of
<br />Paris, Joe Graham, be, and he is hereby authorized and
<br />directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris, the
<br />Professional Services Contract for Inactive Municipal Judge
<br />of the City of Paris, upon the terms and conditions and in
<br />the form shown in Exhibit A attached hereto, with Cedric
<br />Townsend.
