MINUTES OF THE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />February 7, 1985 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met in regular session, Thursday, February <br />,— 7, 1985, 5:15 P. M. Mayor Graham called the meeting to order with the following <br />lCouncilmen present: Jeff Hoog, Walter F. Williams, Nathan Bell, Billy J. Burnett, <br />and George Fisher. Also present were City Manager, David H. Doty, City Attorney, <br />T. K. Haynes, City Clerk, H. C. Greene, and Asst. City Clerk, Mattie Cunningham. <br />Mayor Graham announced that the first order of business would be a public hearing <br />on the petition of Mrs. J. D. Ashley for a change in zoning. <br />Director of Community Development, Joe McCollum appeared before the Council stating <br />that the Planning and Zoning Commission was unable to have their meeting due to <br />weather conditions, and that their meeting would be rescheduled for March. <br />Mayor Graham advised the Council that the public hearings would also be rescheduled <br />for the regular Council meeting March 7, 1985. <br />Director of Community Development, Joe McCollum presented a replat of Lot 14 and <br />15, City Block 250. <br />Councilman Wilson entered the Council Chambers and assumed his seat at the Council <br />table. <br />Mr. Richard Babb, Engineer, appeared before the Council in favor of the replat. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman <br />Wilson approving the replat subject to the requirements of the City Engineer. The <br />motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Director of Community Development, Joe McCollum presented a replat of part of Lot <br />7, City Block 329. <br />Mr. T. S. Smith appeared before the Council objecting to the curb and gutter <br />requirements. <br />After considerable discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded <br />by Councilman Wilson to approve the replat subject to the requirements of the <br />City Engineer. The motion carried 5 ayes, 2 nay, Councilman Burnett, and Council- <br />man Fisher voting nay. <br />Mayor Graham announced that the next item on the agenda was consideration and <br />action of authorizing the preparation of an Ordinance establishing a procedure <br />to be followed in destruction of records that have been microfilmed and records <br />that have been determined to be worthless. A motion was made by Councilman <br />Burnett, seconded by Councilman Fisher authorizing the preparation of an Ordinance. <br />The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 85 -005 approving the plans and specifications for the reconstruction <br />and repair of the sewer main approximately 500 feet in length running south from <br />the South boundary line of the 2100 Block of West Austin Street to the north <br />boundary line of the 2100 Block of W. Sherman Street, and authorizing and directing <br />the City Attorney to procure easements in the area was presented. A motion was <br />made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Wilson approving the Resolution. <br />The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
