MINUTES OF THE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING CITY OF PARIS March 11, 1985 The City Council of the City of Paris met in regular session, Monday, March 11, 1985 7:00 P. M. Mayor Graham called the meeting to order with the following Councilmen present: Jeff Hoog, Walter F. Williams, Nathan Bell, Billy J. Burnett, Donald G. Wilson, and George Fisher. Also present were City Manager, David H. Doty, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, H. C. Greene, City Clerk, and Mattie Cunning- ham Asst. City Clerk. Prayer was offered by Rev. 0. D. Robertson, of the Church of God, Bonham Street. Mayor Graham asked if there were any correction to the minutes of previous meetings and there was one correction, which was approved as presented. Mr. James Georke, Executive Director of Ark -Tex Council of Governments appeared before the Counci1 and discussed service provided by that organization. Mr. Georke encouraged the City to stay a member of the Ark -Tex Uouncil of Govern- ments which may benefit the Citizens of Paris. Mayor Graham instructed the Council that they should discuss this matter before taking any action. Richard Harrington also appeared before the Council and discussed the Section 8 Housing Assistance Payment Program, and stated that the Housing Authority has submitted the application for providing housing in the City of Paris under the Section 8 Housing Assistance Payment "Program. Mr. James Frank Lewis representing the U. S. Protective Services, Inc. was unable to appear. Mr. A. G. Porterfield appeared before the Council in behalf of Mr. 0. L. Rainey and discussed the drainage problems on and adjacent to his property on 34th N. E. Mayor Graham announed that the next order of business would be consideration of and action on previously authorized Ordinances. ORDINANCE NO. 85 -007 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISH- ING A GENERAL RETAIL DISTRICT (GR) ON LOT 1, BLOCKI STELLROSE ADDITION ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO MRS. J. D. ASHLEY, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A ONE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 2 (SF -2); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE GENERAL RETAIL DISTRICT (GR) SO ESTABLISHED. was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Fisher, seconded by Councilman Bell approving the Ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. ORDINANCE NO. 85 -008 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) AND SPECIFIC USE PERMIT - AUTO FUEL SALES (49) ON LOT 6, CITY BLOCK 45, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO RAY SPENCER, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATING AS A TWO FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT (2F); AND DE- SIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) AND SPECIFIC USE PERMIT -AUTO FUEL SALES (49) SO ESTABLISHED.
