Acting City Manager Greene submitted the following bids to provide <br />coverstone for the Street Department: Boorham- Fields, Inc. $9.95; <br />Amis Materials Co., $10.80; Richard Drake $12.04 and C. L. Malone <br />$13.75. He recommended award to low bidder - Boorham - Fields. A <br />motion was made by Councilman Wilson, seconded by Councilman Fisher <br />to award contract to Boorham - Fields, Inc., as recommended. The <br />motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Greene submitted the following bids for preset reinforced <br />concrete box sections for Fitzhugh Avenue drainage structures: <br />Base Bid - Alternate Bid <br />Gifford Hill & Co., Inc. $13,200.00 $12,600.00 <br />Wall Concrete Pipe Co., Inc. $14,785.80 $14,785.80 <br />Staff recommended alternate bid of Gifford -Hill in the amount of <br />$12,600.00 <br />A motion was made by Councilman Francis, seconded by Councilman Williams <br />for acceptance of- Gifford -Hill alternate bid in the amount of $12,600.00. <br />The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Graham announced the next item was to consider authorization to <br />advertise for bids for Wastewater Treatment Plant pump. Councilman <br />Williams made a motion to authorize the bids. Councilman Fisher <br />seconded the motion. Councilman Francis stated he was opposed to the <br />proposed pump use and wanted to discuss it more. Councilman Williams <br />withdrew his original motion and moved to table until after the <br />executive session. Councilman Fisher seconded the motion which carried <br />6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Greene requested authorization to advertise for bids for <br />six police Department vehicles. A motion was made by Councilman Fisher <br />seconded by Councilman Williams to authorize the bids. The motion <br />carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented the form Ordinance for Advance Refunding <br />,___Bonds, but advised that the Ordinance could not be completed until a <br />decision was made as to exactly what the project will be and cost <br />information provided. No action was taken on the matter. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented a previously authorized Ordinance <br />granting the extension of time for the renovation of the house at <br />816 East Washington Street. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 244-77- S'3 -O!/ <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2649, PASSED ON THE 13TH DAY OF <br />SEPTEMBER, 1982, PERMITTING TIME FOR REPAIR OF STRUCTURES OTHERWISE <br />DECLARED DILAPIDATED AT 816 EAST WASHINGTON STREET, LOT 15, BLOCK 1, <br />GIBBONS PARK ADDITION, BELONGING TO GEORGE HARRIS, PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE OF FEBRUARY 14, 1983. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by <br />Councilman Fisher to approve the Ordinance. The motion carried 5 ayes <br />1 nay, Mayor Graham voting nay. <br />City Manager Greene and Interim City Engineer, Richard Babb, presented <br />plans and specifications for the installation of precast concrete <br />drainage structures on Fitzhugh Avenue and requested authorization to <br />advertise for bids for the work. <br />Councilman Fisher made a motion to approve plans and authorize the bids. <br />Councilman Williams seconded the motion which carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />q � -009 <br />Resolution No. 224-1- authorizing procurement of a drainage easement <br />from 28th N. W. in a northwesterly direction was presented. A motion <br />was made by Councilman Wilson, seconded by Councilman Francis for <br />adoption of the Resolution. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
