464 APPENDIX A SCOPE OF WORK 1. INTRODUCTION The Corps of Engineers (COE) proposes to perform, or cause to have performed, a hydrographic survey on Lake Crook. The purpose of this survey is to collect hydrographic data when the reservoir is at or above the normal /conservation pool elevation, and convert this information into an area - elevation - capacity table. All maps generated from this survey are related to this purpose, and the COE makes no representation and assumes no liability if this information is used for any other purposes, such as boating maps. In an effort to keep costs to a minimum, basic needs were identified and are presented in the Specifications section below. The rate schedule was generated from these basic needs. Should the Sponsor require analysis beyond that identified in the basic contract, that information can be provided at an additional cost as identified in Section 6 - Cost Estimate. 2. LOCATION OF SURVEY Lake Crook is located in Lamar County in east Texas. The dam and lake are on Pine Creek approximately two miles north of the city of Paris, Texas. The facility provides water supply for Paris, Texas. Water- rights owner and operator of Lake Crook is the city of Paris, Texas. The lake has a surface area of 1,226 acres. 3. SURVEY PLAN, SPECIFICATIONS, AND ANALYSES Surface acreage will be based on USGS 7.5 minute quadrangle or 1- meter resolution digital ortho quarter quad (DOQQ) developed for the Texas GIS Planning Council, if available. Positioning on the lake surface will be established utilizing Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) with an estimated resolution of three meters or better. Survey data will be collected from survey lines spaced at approximately 500 feet. These lines will be followed to the extent possible as permitted by obstructions.
