Box 9037 <br />Paris, TX 75461 -9037 <br />Re: Addendum No. l to the Agreement for Engineering Services <br />Water System Improvements <br />Dear Mr. Napier: <br />Bucher, Willis and Ratliff Corporation (BWR) is requesting that Addendum No. I to the Engineering <br />Services Agreement between the City of Paris and BWR be approved by the Paris City Council. This <br />Addendum provides for construction observation and material testing of the Elevated Water Storage <br />Facility and the 24" RCCP Water Transmission Line. Procedures will include the following: <br />Elevated Water Storage Facility: Field observation of foundation reinforcing steel <br />Field observation of support column reinforcing steel <br />Testing of concrete in the foundation and column <br />Field observation of steel preparation <br />Field observation of welding during tank construction <br />Field x -rays of joint welds <br />Field observation of steel preparation for coating application <br />Field observation of coating application <br />Field testing of coating thickness as per specifications <br />Water Transmission Line: Collection of soils samples and lab testing of material <br />Field analysis of lime stabilization materials and soils <br />Field density and moisture testing of compacted materials <br />The estimated cost of performing these procedures, including administrative and subcontractor costs, is <br />$89,981.00. Services associated with this Addendum will be based on an hourly cost basis for all items. <br />It is requested that a budget of $90,000.00 be approved as a part of Addendum No. I to cover the costs of <br />these tasks.
