299 <br />CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES <br />ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING <br />A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) ON LOT 1, CITY BLOCK 307 -B, ON <br />PROPERTY BELONGING TO RALPH ROOKS, SO AS TO INCLUDE <br />THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS AN <br />AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT (A); DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF <br />THE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT ©) SO ESTABLISHED; PROVIDING FOR <br />A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $2,000.00; REPEALING ALL <br />ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE, WAS PRESENTED. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Weekly, seconded by Councilman <br />McCarthy, for adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Pfiester announced the next order of business was approval of minutes <br />from previous meetings. The City Manager advised that the City Council had <br />been furnished with the minutes of previous meetings and the City Council may <br />want to take those and read over them as they were not on the computer disk. <br />No action was taken to approve the minutes furnished. <br />City Manager Malone advised that the minutes from the Paris Economic <br />Development corporation had been furnished with no action be required. <br />Gary Vest, Executive Director of the Paris Economic Development Corporation, <br />came forward presenting a power point presentation of the Annual Report for <br />the year 2002. <br />Mr. Vest reported that they advertised in a number of publications throughout <br />the year. The first one they advertised in, "Plant Sites and Parks ", generated 28 <br />leads. A copy of the ad was passed around. There was another advertisement <br />in "Trade and Commerce" which resulted in 24 leads. They also received 20 <br />leads from "Business Facilities "; 13 leads from "Area Development "; and 10 <br />leads from "Outlook ". Other magazines used were "Global Expansion" and <br />"Business Expansion ". <br />
