5 5.9 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003 -040 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, AWARDING THE BID FOR THE PURCHASE OF <br />FLEXIBLE BASE MATERIAL (RED ROCK) FOR USE IN THE STREET <br />DIVISION OF THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT; MAKING OTHER <br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.. <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 13th day of January, <br />2003, in Resolution No. 2003 -014, authorize the advertisement forbids for the purchase of Flexible <br />Base Material (Red Rock) for use in the Street Division of the Public Works Department; and, <br />WHEREAS, the best bid for such material was made by Martin Marietta Materials, and it <br />should be awarded the bid for the same; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things <br />approved. <br />Section 2. That the bid of Martin Marietta Materials for the furnishing and delivery of <br />Flexible Base Material (Red Rock) for use in the Street Division of the Public Works Department, <br />in the amount of $7.95 per ton, is hereby accepted and let conditioned upon said vendor meeting all <br />of the terms and specifications included in the bid documents, attached hereto as Exhibit A. <br />Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage <br />PASSED AND APPROVED this 10th day of February, 2003. <br />ichael J. S6henk, Ci Attorney <br />Resolution No. 2003 -041, accepting the bids of Richard Drake Construction <br />Company, L.P. for the furnishing and delivery of Hot Mix Cold Laid Asphalt, <br />Type "B" (Fine Base) material for use in the Street Division of the Public Works <br />Department, in the amount of $25.50 per ton, was presented. A motion was <br />made by Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Weekly, for approval <br />of the resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
