270 <br />.: P :LI A 3 .i;.iCy t....:..>.., .,.- ....._�.... «. «.ems- ......� _....,......... <br />Mayor Burnett called for the tabulation of bids for an ambulance for the Emergency <br />Medical Service, and the following bids were presented: <br />Summers Ambulance & Coaches, Duncanville $24,010.00 (82 Model) <br />Summer Ambulance & Coaches, Duncanville $23,975.00 (81 Model) <br />Superior Southwest, Dallas $24,131.00 <br />EM -Quip, Inc., Stafford, Tex. $25,170.75 <br />Texas Superior, Inc., Austin $23,394.00 <br />City Manager Sokoll recommended that Summer Ambulance & Coaches bid in the amount _ <br />of $24,010.00 be accepted and approved, and that the ambulance be purchased from <br />the Revenue Sharing Funds rather than the General Fund and explained that the <br />Emergency Medical Service had appropriated monies for a garage and that the garage <br />would be paid for through the General Fund. A motion was made by Councilman <br />Williams, seconded by Councilman Francis approving the recommendation of the <br />City Manager, and authorizing the purchase of an ambulance from the Revenue <br />Sharing Fund. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokoll presented the Council a request from a citizen to purchase <br />property located South of the West Side Fire Station. City Manager Sokoll <br />explained to the Council that past City Council's have been reluctant to sell <br />any City owned land, but the City does not have any future plans for the property <br />in question. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Kohls, seconded by <br />Councilman Francis to deny the sale of the property. The motion carried 5 ayes, <br />2 nays, Councilman Graham, and Councilman Burnett voting nay. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Graham to put <br />the matter into a committee for further study. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Burnett appointed a committee composed of Councilman Williams, Councilman <br />Graham, and Councilman McGee. <br />Mr. Richard Babb, Interim City Engineer appeared before the Council and presented <br />plans and specifications for Phase II, 17th Street S. E. Drainage Project. Mr. <br />Babb stated that the estimated cost of Phase II would be $94,850.00. After <br />discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Kohls <br />approving the plans and specifications and authorizing bids for the project. The —J <br />motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokoll requested the City Councils approval of the City participation <br />in the Firemen's Retirement System from 7 to 8% of salary and advised that the <br />1981 -82 budget had provided for the 8% participation by the City. A motion was <br />made by Councilman Graham, seconded by Councilman Kohls approving the City <br />contribution to the Firemen's Relief and Retirement Fund in the amount of 8% <br />beginning July 1, 1981. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Burnett called for the reading of a previously authorizing Ordinance increasing <br />the E.M.S. Ambulance rates. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2584 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCE CITY OF PARIS BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 2 -51 OF SAID CODE, <br />PROVIDING FOR THE INCREASE IN AMBULANCE SERVICE RATES; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES <br />OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br />OF SEPTEMBER 1, 1981. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Kohls, seconded by Councilman Graham <br />for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 6 ayes, 1 nay, Councilman Williams <br />voting nay. <br />i <br />
