IQ! Mayor Malone called for a public hearing on the rate schedule of the Texas Power & Light Company for April 13, 1981. Mr. Brad Leiter appeared before the Council requesting a cable T.V. Franchise. After discussion with the Council, Mr. Leiter was requested to furnish the proposed Cable Company's operation, method of operation, the financial conditions, to the City for study and recommendations by the staff to the City Council. Mayor Malone called for the tabulation of bids for a dump truck for the Street Department and the following bids were presented: Kosterman Motors $14,475.00 Smallwood -North Truck & Tractor $18,446.31 Lowry Chevorlet $16,997.15 David Glass Motors $14,987.29 A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Wortham to award the bid to the Kosterman Motor Company. The motion carried 6 aye, 1 nay, 1 abstaining, Councilman Kohls abstaining. City Manager Sokoll requested authorization to advertise for bids for all concession privileges at Wise, Travis, and Record Fields. A motion was made by Councilman Kyle seconded by Councilman Francis approving the request. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. City Manager Sokoll requested authorization to advertise for bids for a tractor backhoe for the Water and Sewer Department. City Manager Sokoll explained that the backhoe was not budgeted, but due to the existing condition of present equip- ment, it was recommended that an emergency be declared and the purchase of the backhoe be authorized from the Water and Sewer Fund. A motion was made by Council- man Williams, seconded by Councilman Kyle approving the request of the City Manager. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. City Manager Sokoll presented a request for water in the gray area from Jack Henderson who resides in the Margraves Addition. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Williams approving the request. The motion carried 7 ayes, O nays. City Manager Sokoll advised the Council of the offer of 1,436 gallon gasoline truck tank from the Biard Oil Company, and recommended its acceptance for use by the Fire Department. Resolution No. 2087 accepting the donation by the Biard Oil Company of Paris, Texas for a damaged 1,436 gallon gasoline transportation tank of the value of $1,000.00 was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Wortham for adopt to of the Resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays.
