IQ! <br />Mayor Malone called for a public hearing on the rate schedule of the Texas <br />Power & Light Company for April 13, 1981. <br />Mr. Brad Leiter appeared before the Council requesting a cable T.V. Franchise. <br />After discussion with the Council, Mr. Leiter was requested to furnish the <br />proposed Cable Company's operation, method of operation, the financial conditions, <br />to the City for study and recommendations by the staff to the City Council. <br />Mayor Malone called for the tabulation of bids for a dump truck for the Street <br />Department and the following bids were presented: <br />Kosterman Motors $14,475.00 <br />Smallwood -North Truck & Tractor $18,446.31 <br />Lowry Chevorlet $16,997.15 <br />David Glass Motors $14,987.29 <br />A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Wortham to <br />award the bid to the Kosterman Motor Company. The motion carried 6 aye, 1 nay, <br />1 abstaining, Councilman Kohls abstaining. <br />City Manager Sokoll requested authorization to advertise for bids for all <br />concession privileges at Wise, Travis, and Record Fields. A motion was made <br />by Councilman Kyle seconded by Councilman Francis approving the request. The <br />motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokoll requested authorization to advertise for bids for a tractor <br />backhoe for the Water and Sewer Department. City Manager Sokoll explained that <br />the backhoe was not budgeted, but due to the existing condition of present equip- <br />ment, it was recommended that an emergency be declared and the purchase of the <br />backhoe be authorized from the Water and Sewer Fund. A motion was made by Council- <br />man Williams, seconded by Councilman Kyle approving the request of the City Manager. <br />The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokoll presented a request for water in the gray area from Jack <br />Henderson who resides in the Margraves Addition. A motion was made by Councilman <br />Burnett, seconded by Councilman Williams approving the request. The motion <br />carried 7 ayes, O nays. <br />City Manager Sokoll advised the Council of the offer of 1,436 gallon gasoline <br />truck tank from the Biard Oil Company, and recommended its acceptance for use <br />by the Fire Department. <br />Resolution No. 2087 accepting the donation by the Biard Oil Company of Paris, <br />Texas for a damaged 1,436 gallon gasoline transportation tank of the value <br />of $1,000.00 was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded <br />by Councilman Wortham for adopt to of the Resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, <br />0 nays. <br />
