Resolution No. 2091 authorizing the acceptance of an easement and right of <br />way upon which the Compress unit is located in City Block 156A as requested <br />by the Historic Landmark Preservation Committee was presented. A motion was <br />made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Wortham for adoption of <br />the Resolution. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2091 <br />WHEREAS, the Historic Landmark Preservation Committee <br />of the City of Paris did through donations finance the <br />purchase of the Compress from the Farmers and Merchants <br />Compress; and, <br />WHEREAS, the owner of said Compress site, Foy Crockett, <br />has offered a right -of -way easement for a period of ten (10) <br />years to the City of Paris describing the area upon which <br />the Compress Unit is located; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of <br />the historical preservation of the City of Paris that such <br />Compress Unit and easement be maintained for the benefit of <br />the citizens of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, That the right -of -way easement attached hereto as <br />Exhibit A is hereby accepted, and the Mayor of the City of <br />Paris, Michael E. Malone, be, and he is hereby authorized <br />and directed to execute said right -of -way easement on be- <br />half of the City of Paris. <br />Passed and adopted this 13th day of April, 1981, <br />Mic ae E.
