Francis <br />Walter Williams <br />Michael Malone <br />Mr. Reaves Hayter, Consulting Engineer, on the Infiltration /Infow Study appeared r <br />before the Council and in reviewing, stated that four alternates had been sub- <br />mitted to the Council for their study and that the Council had originally chosen <br />the alternate calling for an additional sewer treatment plant in the South part <br />of the City, and advised that the current recommendation was made by the Committee <br />was for the adoption of the alternate using only one plant, the present existing <br />plant. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Council- <br />man Williams to accept the report of the Committee. <br />Mr. Hayter advised that the Consultants had leaned toward alternate No. 4, that <br />is, requiring a plant to be built in South Paris, and stated that operation and <br />maintenance future expenses were a factor, and that it was possible that sewer <br />could be required to be pumped five time if growth is to the South if alternate <br />No 1 concerning one sewer plant to the North only was adopted. Darrell Gunn, <br />Director of Public Works appeared before the Council stating that he felt that <br />a South plant would inevitably have to be built if Paris continues to grow and <br />stated that he has reservations about using one plant north, principally be- <br />cause of a proposed lagoon. Mayor Malone stated if growth is to the North that <br />possibly a second plant would be necessary to the North. Mayor Malone called for <br />the vote on the motion to accept the report of the Committee. The motion carried <br />6 ayes, 1 nay, Councilman Kyle voting nay. <br />Mayor Malone called for the tabulation of bids on Street Improvements for Pine <br />Mill Road, 7th Street N. W., and Aikin Drive, and the following bids were <br />presented: <br />David Buster Construction Co. Pine Mill Rd. $319,388.50 <br />7th N. W. $136,272.50 <br />Aikin Dr. $122,183.50 <br />$577,844.50 <br />City Manager Sokoll advised that the Paris Ind. School District had requested <br />the bid of Aikin Dr. be included with the City's bid and that the Paris Ind. <br />School District had rejected that bid stating that they wanted to re- engineer <br />or re -study the bids. City Manager Sokoll recommended that this item be deleted <br />from the bid and the bid of the David Buster Construction Company for Pine Mill <br />Road and 7th Street N. W. be approved in the amount of $455,661.00 Mr. David <br />Buster of Buster Construction Company was in the audience and stated that the <br />City had its option to delete the Aikin Drive Street bid. <br />Resolution No. 2010, authorizing the Mayor to execute a contract with David <br />Buster DBA David Buster Construction Company for the construction of Pine Mill <br />Road and 7th Street N. W. in the amount of $455,661.00 was presented. A motion <br />was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Williams for adoption of <br />the Resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
