_ 1,23 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2068 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, has been <br />notified by the Board of Directors of the Appraisal District, com- <br />posed of the Taxing Units of Lamar County, that a vacancy exists <br />on said Board; and, <br />WHEREAS, said notification was received less than ten (10) <br />days before this the 10th day of November, 1980; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris desires to <br />nominate James Dunagan of Blossom, Texas; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, That James Dunagan, be, and he 'is hereby nominated to <br />fill the vacancy existing on the Board of Directors of the Appraisal <br />District, composed of the Taxing Units of Lamar County; and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the County Clerk of <br />Lamar County is requested to prepare and deliver to the Board of <br />Directors of said Appraisal District, within the next five (5) days, <br />a list of all persons nominated for said vacancy, in order that the <br />Board of Directors may electby majority vote of its members one <br />of the nominees to fill said vacancy. <br />Passed and adopted this 10th day of November, 1980. <br />Michael E. G eene, City Clerk <br />APPROVED TO FORM: <br />aynes, City Attorney <br />Resolution No. 2069 authorizing the Mayor to execute on behalf of the City of <br />Paris Pipe Line License dated October 31, 1980 with the Missouri Pacific <br />Railroad Company was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Williams, <br />seconded by Councilman Wortham for adoption of the Resolution. The motion <br />carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokoll presented a proforma contract for discussion only regarding <br />solid waste disposal with energy recovery. After discussion a motion was made <br />by Councilman Francis, seconded by Councilman Burnett that the Council go on <br />record as expressing an interest in the procurement of a trash system which <br />involved recovery of usable materials, and also go on to record as encouraging <br />contractors to pursue this end in order that the City of Paris could contract <br />with them. <br />
