City Manager Sokoll informed the Council that Mr. Dick Boots had been appointed <br />Director of Parks and Recreation and requested confirmation by the Council. A <br />motion was made by Councilman Fisher, seconded by Councilman Burnett confirming <br />the appointment of Dick Boots as Director of Paris & Recreation. The motion <br />carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokoll presented request of Mark G. Jones and Thomas Earl Jones <br />for out -of -town water service being 3800 Block of Pine Mill ,Road and 2860 19th <br />N. W. respectively. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Burnett, <br />_ seconded by Councilman Williams approving the request. The motion carried 6 ayes, <br />1 nay, Councilman Kyle voting nay. <br />Mayor Malone requested the Council's consideration of a previously authorized <br />Ordinance establishing Speed Zone on FM 1507. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2498 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NOS. 1812, 1814, AND 1836; ESTABLISHING THE <br />SPEED LIMITS ON FM 1507 (JEFFERSON ROAD) FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH STATE <br />HIGHWAY 24 EASTERLY TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH FM 905; PROVIDING FOR A FINE NOT <br />TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT <br />HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF MAY 1, 1980. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman <br />Farris for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 2020 confirming the appointment by the Mayor of Michael E. Malone, <br />Newton Davis, and William E. Dyer to the Tree Preservation Committee was presented. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Kyle for adoption <br />of the Resolution.
