City Attorney Haynes advised that the Council consider an Ordinance appointing <br />three members to the Board of Equalization which would be in compliance with the <br />City Charter and would be in addition to the Resolution previously passed. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2499 <br />AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING THREE MEMBERS TO THE EQUALIZATION BOARD OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, TO SERVE FOR THE CURRENT TAXABLE YEAR; ESTABLISHING THE <br />TIME FOR THE FIRST MEETING OF THE EQUALIZATION BOARD; ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF <br />PAY FOR THE MEMBERS OF SAID BOARD, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman <br />Fisher for adoption of the Ordinance. GREENE, CITY CLERK <br />MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />April 16, 1980 <br />The special meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris was held Wednesday, <br />April 16, 1980 at 7:00 P. M. City Council Room. Mayor Malone called the meeting <br />to order with the following Councilmen present: George Fisher, Jr. Walter F. <br />Williams Billy J. Burnett, Ronald Kyle and W. C. Francis. Also present were <br />City Manager, Robert W. Sokoli, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, <br />H. C. Greene. <br />Mayor Malone announced that the special meeting was called in compliance with <br />the Charter of the City of Paris for the purpose of canvassing the returns of <br />the Regular City Election held on the 5th day of April 1980. <br />Returns from each of the four wards that being Ward One, Ward Two, Ward Three, <br />and Ward Six presented, examined, and read aloud by the Mayor. <br />Resolution No. 2024 declaring the results of the election was presented. A <br />motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Fisher for <br />adoption of the Resolution. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
