M{{ <br />2. ,.` •� <br />Consideration was than given to preparation of an ordinance - giving notification <br />of an intent to pave 7th Street N.E., Booth Alley and Booth Place on an assessment <br />basis. <br />Mayor Brunette stated that although this was not a public hearing there were -- <br />people in the audience who wished to make statements on this matter and they were <br />given an opportunity to speak. <br />Mrs. Ben Smith and Mr. Billy Brown stated that the portion of 7th Street N.E. <br />from Cherry Street north to approximately 200 feet had been paved under an <br />assessment program around 1924 and they felt they should not be assessed again <br />for that pavement. They stated their willingness to pay for curb and gutter <br />along their property. <br />Director of Public Works Kiilingsworth was asked if it was necessary to include <br />the Smith and Brown frontage in the paving of 7th Street N.E. He stated that <br />a complete survey would need to be done to determine if this would be necessary <br />to properly design the paving. <br />Betty Gains and Laura Smith stated the need for paving on 7th Street and Booth <br />Alley and expressed thanks for the concern of the Council. <br />Mayor Brunette stated that it was necessary to instruct the engineer to complete <br />the plans if we are going to go ahead with the project. Council agreed that <br />property should only be assessed once for paving. Councilman Malone stated he <br />thought the project should be done from Cherry Street north and that the Smith <br />and Brown property should be assessed only for curb and gutter and the remainder <br />be assessed for paving as well as curb and gutter. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Williams authorizing preparation of an ordinance <br />giving notification of intent to paving 7th N.E., Booth Alley and Booth Place <br />after preparation of plans. Councilman Fisher seconded the motion which carried <br />7 ayes, no nays. <br />Councilman Stone presented a study committee report concerning the City of <br />Reno's request for sewer service. He stated the two committees. had agreed on <br />a service area limit line between the two cities to be submitted-to the respective <br />councils for approval. <br />A map indicating this service area limit line was presented for Council consid- <br />eration. It was the consensus of the Council that the service area limit line <br />location was alright and the committee was requested to continue with the study <br />and to continue consulting with the Reno representatives. <br />An ordinance calling a public hearing for street assessment on W. Kaufman Street <br />between 28th Street S.W. and 29th Street S.W. was considered. Ordinance No. 2370: <br />
