Shawn Napier reported that 253 residences and two apartment complexes had been demolished since late 2006 for a total cost of $1,353,220.61. He also noted that the inventory of unoccupied substandard houses was approximately 15 and future demolitions may involve occupied houses. 23. Consider and approve and future events for City Council and/or City Staff pursuant to Resolution No. 2004 -081. Kevin Carruth told everyone that the unveiling of the Bass Reeve statue would take place at the courthouse on Wednesday, April 21St. Council Member Rogers said there was a ribbon cutting at the Chamber at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday for an air conditioning company and a live @5 event on April 15th at Ivan Smith Furniture. 24.
