Hear and deliberate on presentations from non -profit organizations requesting funding. <br />City Council heard from the following individuals on behalf of non - profit organizations: <br />Angela Crawford - Children's Advocacy Center <br />Sharon Eubanks -CASA for Kids <br />Mary Clark- Diversity Task Force <br />Daryl Bruce and Mark Shusberry- ETCADA <br />Brad Scott- American Red <br />Patsy Davis - Historical Society Museum <br />Tanta Hilliard -Lamar County Human Resources <br />Dana Sale- Models of the Maker <br />Claire Haslam and Adalye Risinger- SAFE -T <br />12. Deliberate and possibly act on the proposed paving width of the main runway at Cox <br />Field. <br />Shawn Napier explained option one as paving the entire 150 foot width of the runway, <br />but the City would be required to cover the cost of the extra paving estimated at an additional <br />$500,000. Mr. Napier said the other option was to mill the entire 150 foot pavement width, fix <br />the joints and crack seal the outer 25 feet that would not be overlayed at an estimated cost of <br />$30,000. <br />A Motion to approve the second option was made by Council Member Pickle and <br />seconded by Council Member Wright. Motion carried, 4 ayes — 0 nays. <br />1.3. Deliberate and possibly act on RESOLUTION NO. 2010 -087: A JOINT RESOLUTION <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, AND THE <br />COMMISSIONERS' COURT OF LAMAR COUNTY, TEXAS, APPOINTING <br />MEMBERS TO THE PARIS - LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH; MAKING <br />OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Health Department Director Anthony Bethel said that he had learned that Dr. Carpenter <br />desired to continue to serve on the Board. Council Member Pickle asked if Dr. Carpenter had <br />completed an application and Mr. Bethel said he had not. Council Member Pickle said he did <br />not think that was fair to the individuals that had completed applications. Mr. Bethel inquired <br />about the possibility of later adding another member to the Board. <br />A Motion to appoint Dr. James Gulde and William `Bill" Sanders to the Board was made <br />by Council Member Pickle and seconded by Council Member Wright. Motion carried, 4 ayes — <br />0 nays. <br />
