Paris Public Library Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />August 19, 2015 <br />Opening: <br />The regular meeting of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board was called to order at 4:10 p.m. <br />Present: <br />Board members present were Fran Neely, Connie Dodd, Denise Kornegay, Rebecca Umphrey, <br />Carol James, and director Priscilla McAnally. Absent were Daisy Harvill and Mike Pendleton. <br />Matt Frierson, our City Council Liaison, was also in attendance. <br />I. Approval of Minutes: <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously approved. <br />II. New Business: <br />A. Gallery Use <br />Eliyahu Bn Yhwh requested use of the Gallery for a group to meet to research <br />ancient scripture. <br />Request approved as long as the group doesn't become or appear to be a religious <br />group. Motion made by Denise and seconded by Carol. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br />B. By -laws Revision to Amendment 1 <br />Clarified the attendance requirements for Board members by specifying the 12 <br />month period to be from July -June. This amendment is effective as of September <br />18, 2015. <br />Revision approved. Motion made by Connie and seconded by Carol. Motion <br />passed unanimously. Board members who are in danger of missing more than <br />25% of the meetings will be sent the attendance policy along with a note about the <br />number of missed meetings. <br />III. Old Business: <br />A. FY 2015 -2016 Budget update <br />Library budget had three changes with a net decrease of $3,700. <br />IV. Presentations: <br />A. Budget Report — The new fiscal year begins on October 1. As of the August 2015 <br />budget report, library spending is on track to complete 2014 -2015 spending by <br />October 1. <br />B. Statistical Report — Both circulation and library visits decreased in July as <br />compared with last year with a circulation decrease of 9.49 %, and library visits <br />decreased by 9.26 %. <br />
