REGULAR MEETING <br />AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD <br />COUNCIL, CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />THURSDAY, AUGUST 20, 2015 <br />5:30 O'CLOCK PM <br />The Airport Adiisory Board meeting ivas called to order by Dennis Ashby, Chairman, at <br />5:30 p. in. <br />A. The following members were present. Dennis Ashby, Gary Tolleson, Tim Bullock, <br />Anna Spencer and Paula Portugal <br />B. The following members were absent: Chris Fitzgerald and Matt Birch <br />C. Also present: John Godwin, City Manager-, Jerry Richey, Airport Manager; and <br />Ashley Fendley, City Staff <br />2. Approral of niinutes,fi-om previous meetings. (July 16, 2015) <br />Motion was made by Gary Tolleson, seconded by Tim Bullock to approve the minutes <br />from July 16, 2015 meetings. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />Discussion and possible action regarding the 20.16 Fly- InlAir Show. <br />Gary Tolleson stated that he has been reviewing dates for October of 2016 for the Fly - <br />In /Air Show. Mr. Tolleson believes October 15, 2016 would be the best opportunity. <br />Dennis Ashby stated that will give us a little over a year to decide if we are going to move <br />forward with a Fly -In or Air Show depending on expenses. Mr. Ashby further stated we <br />will .need to look into getting; donation and sponsorships to help with the expenses. Anna <br />Spencer asked what kind of cost the City of Paris and the Cox Field Airport would incur in <br />connection with this event. Mr. Ashby stated that the goal is to raise the money so the City <br />and Airport have no expense. Mrs. Spencer asked when the last Fly -In was and what was <br />the number in attendance. Jerry Richey stated the last Fly -In was in 2012 and we had a <br />large crowd that day. Tim Bullock asked who sponsored the Fly -In in 2012. Ashley <br />Fendley stated she believed it was the Chamber of Commerce and the City of Paris. <br />Motion was made by Gary Tolleson, seconded by Tim .Bullock to approve October 1.5, <br />2016 to have a Fly-In/Air Show at Cox Field. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />4. Discussion in regards to developing the Airport. <br />John Godwin stated that the plan to start building the new hangars in 2016 has now been <br />postponed untill 2017 by TXDO`I' Aviation. Dennis Ashby stated that the new board <br />
