Minutes <br />Traffic Commission <br />City of Paris <br />The Traffic Commission met on Tuesday October 06, 2015 at 5:15 P.M. in the <br />Municipal Courtroom with the following members present: <br />1. Barry Shiver <br />2. Susan Hamby <br />3. Wendell Moore <br />4. Stephen Engelhardt <br />5. Bill Sanders <br />The city staff was represented by Asst. Chief Randy Tuttle. <br />Mr. Shiver called the meeting to order at 5:17pm. A quorum was established with <br />five members present. <br />Mr. Shiver then moved to item #2 concerning the approval of minutes from the <br />August 04, 2015 meeting. Ms. Hamby made a motion to approve minutes with a <br />second from Mr. Engelhardt. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />Mr. Shiver moved to item #3 regarding the discussion and possible action <br />concerning the placement of traffic signal at N. Collegiate & Pine Mill Rd. Mr. <br />Tuttle informed members that a request from city council had been received to <br />consider this item. Mr. Tuttle advised members this item had been discussed <br />before by the Traffic Commission with no action being taken. Mr. Tuttle reported <br />to members that the city traffic division had conducted a traffic count at the <br />intersection before and after the school year began. Both counts were done from <br />Monday 10:00am to Friday 10:00am. The results were; <br />Collegiate Street - Non- School Hours <br />5 Days= 36,780 Vehicles <br />Collegiate Street - School Hours Included <br />5 Days= 42,735 Vehicles <br />Pine Mill Road — Non School Hours <br />5 Days= 7,565 <br />Pine Mill Road — Schools Hours Included <br />5 Days= 13,560 <br />Mr. Tuttle also reported that there had been seven accidents within the last three <br />years at the intersection. Members were advised the Texas Manual for Traffic <br />Control Devices recommends an engineer study be done to determine if a traffic <br />
