After discussion Ms. Hamby made a <br />motion to recommend the city have an engineer conduct a study to determine if <br />the traffic signal is warranted at Collegiate and Pine Mill Rd. Mr. Engelhardt <br />made a second. The motion failed by 3 -2 vote with Ms. Hamby and Mr. <br />Engelhardt voting for and Mr. Shiver, Mr. Sanders, and Mr. Moore voting against. <br />Mr. Shiver then moved to Item #4 regarding any old business. Mr. Tuttle informed <br />members that the ramp on the Trail de Paris at 24th SE had been widened as had <br />been previously requested. Mr. Tuttle provided members a reply letter from <br />TXDOT concerning the request for safety improvements in the curve at 20th NE & <br />Martin Luther King Dr. Mr. Tuttle reviewed the letter with members in which <br />TXDOT agreed with all safety requests except the installation of speed bumps at <br />both entrances to the curve on 20th NE. TXDOT reported that requested <br />improvements will be included in future contracts for work in that area. <br />Mr. Shiver then moved to item #5 concerning future agenda items. Mr. Sanders <br />stated he would like TXDOT to consider placing directional traffic arrows in the <br />crossovers on Loop 286. Mr. Sanders stated the safety and traffic flow would <br />improve for vehicles using the crossover if lanes were provided for turns and <br />crossover traffic. Mr. Sanders presented a diagram of his suggestion. Mr. Tuttle <br />informed members this would be forwarded to TXDOT for their consideration. A <br />status on the one way street conversion in the downtown area was also <br />requested for next meeting. <br />Mr. Shiver then moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:38pm.
