Paris Public Library Advisory Board Meeting Minutes November 18, 2015 Opening: The regular meeting of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board was called to order at 4:00 p.m. Present: Board members present were Fran Neeley, Connie Dodd, Denise Kornegay, Mike Pendleton, Rebecca Umphrey, Daisy Harvill, and director Priscilla McAnally. Carol James was absent. I. Approval of Minutes The minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously approved as presented. II. New Business: Policies Review — Circulation Policy Three changes were recommended by Ms. McAnally: 1. Page 1 — Adding clarification about checking out materials: patrons must present a valid PPL card or a valid photo id; adding information for patrons to notify the library as soon as possible if a library card is lost or stolen. 2. Page 3 — Adding clarification about acceptable forms of identification need to receive a library card: Letter from a government or social services agency dated within the prior 30 days. 3. Page 3 — Change in the section on Privacy and Confidentiality of records stating that personal information is kept as long as the card is active. 4. Page 6 — Adding clarification about Fines stating that fines are charged for each overdue item. 5. Page 6 — Changed replacement card cost to $2.00. Policy changes will be effective January 1, 2016. III. Old Business: None IV. Presentations A. Budget Report. Approximately 22% of the library's materials budget has been spent. B. Statistical Report. Both circulation and visits are below last year. Circulation decreased 18.4 %, and visits decreased by 12.35 %. V. Friends of the Library: No report from the Friends this month, but Ms. McAnally has suggested to the Friends that they host a luncheon with Reavis Wortham to raise funds for the restoration of the Bywaters panels.
