MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />MONDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2015 <br />5:30 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />The meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission on Monday, November 2, 2015, was <br />called to order at 5:30p. m. by Jerry Akers, Vice - Chairman. <br />A. The following members were present: John Lee, Jerry Akers, Barney Bray, Robert <br />Spain, Billy Trenado and Mike Folmar <br />B. The following members were absent: Holland Harper <br />C. Also present were John Godwin, City Manager; Shane Grissom, Engineering <br />Technician; Alan Efrussy, Planning Manager; Dr. Steve Clifford, City Council and <br />Ashley Fendley, Secretary for the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (October 5, 2015) <br />Motion was made by Mike Folmar, seconded by Barney Bray to approve minutes for the <br />October 5, 2015 meeting. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />3. Public hearing to consider the petition of Love's Travel Stops and Country Stores, Inc. on <br />behalf of Mark and Deborah Jones for a change in zoning from a Commercial District (C) <br />to a Light Industrial District (LI) on Lot 2, City Block 307-A, being located in the 3200 <br />Block of North Main Street. <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />A. Three individuals spoke in favor of this petition. <br />Caton Hogan, of Oklahoma City, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. Hogan stated <br />that he is the Real Estate Project Manager for the Love's Travel Stop & Country <br />Stores. Mr. Hogan stated they are proposing to construct a Love's Travel Stop <br />which would provide jobs for 25 to 30 individuals. Mr. Hogan stated that they are <br />proposing to have a cat scale, 47 parking spaces, 2 RV spaces, and 60 semi - trucks <br />parking spaces. Mr. Hogan further stated that Love's is excited to be coming to <br />Paris and he hopes the commission will approve the change in zoning. <br />Darren McIntire, 500 N.W. Loop 286 Paris, Texas, spoke in favor of the petition. <br />
