MINUTES REGULAR MEETING PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS 107 E. KAUFMAN STREET PARIS, TEXAS MONDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2015 5:30 O'CLOCK P.M. The meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission on Monday, November 2, 2015, was called to order at 5:30 p. m. by Jerry Akers, Vice - Chairman. A. The following members were present: John Lee, Jerry Akers, Barney Bray, Robert Spain, Billy Trenado and Mike Folmar B. The following members were absent: Holland Harper C. Also present were John Godwin, City Manager; Shane Grissom, Engineering Technician; Alan Efrussy, Planning Manager; Dr. Steve Clifford, City Council and Ashley Fendley, Secretary for the Planning and Zoning Commission. 2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (October 5, 2015) Motion was made by Mike Folmar, seconded by Barney Bray to approve minutes for the October 5, 2015 meeting. Motion carried 6 -0. 3. Public hearing to consider the petition of Love's Travel Stops and Country Stores, Inc. on behalf of Mark and Deborah Jones for a change in zoning from a Commercial District (C) to a Light Industrial District (LI) on Lot 2, City Block 307-A, being located in the 3200 Block of North Main Street. Public hearing was declared open. A. Three individuals spoke in favor of this petition. Caton Hogan, of Oklahoma City, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. Hogan stated that he is the Real Estate Project Manager for the Love's Travel Stop & Country Stores. Mr. Hogan stated they are proposing to construct a Love's Travel Stop which would provide jobs for 25 to 30 individuals. Mr. Hogan stated that they are proposing to have a cat scale, 47 parking spaces, 2 RV spaces, and 60 semi - trucks parking spaces. Mr. Hogan further stated that Love's is excited to be coming to Paris and he hopes the commission will approve the change in zoning. Darren McIntire, 500 N.W. Loop 286 Paris, Texas, spoke in favor of the petition.
