Paris Public Library Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />December 16, 2015 <br />Opening: <br />The regular meeting of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board was called to order at 4:00 p.m. <br />Present: <br />Board members present were Fran Neeley, Denise Kornegay, Rebecca Umphrey, Carol James, Daisy <br />Harvill, and director Priscilla McAnally. Connie Dodd and Mike Pendleton were absent. <br />Approval of Minutes <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously approved as presented. <br />Il. New Business: <br />Policies Review — Tabled until January 2016 meeting <br />III. Old Business: <br />Circulation Policy — More revisions for clarification at the January 2016 meeting <br />IV. Presentations: <br />A. Budget Report. <br />Approximately $37,000 of the library's materials budget has been spent with a larger <br />percentage used to purchase e -books <br />B. Statistical Report. <br />Both circulation and visits are below last year. Circulation decreased 8.24 %, and visits <br />decreased by 7.64% which were both less than the November differences. Circulation of <br />videos and downloadable audios were up from 2014. <br />V. Friends of the Library: <br />No report from the Friends this month, but Ms. McAnally reported that the Friends group <br />has approximately $19,000 in its balance. They spend funds in the children's area and could <br />possibly contribute to the restoration of the Bywaters paintings. <br />The Board discussed a finding venue other than the library for a luncheon with a speaker, <br />possibly Reavis Wortham. <br />VI. Director's Remarks: <br />Unfortunately, there was a break -in recently at the library in the downstairs staff room; a <br />television, cable box, and air purifier were taken. Glass was broken in a door to enter the <br />room, and the glass was taken. The trespassers did not go upstairs. Insurance on the <br />building has a $1,000 deductible, but there was only about $500 in damages and <br />replacement costs. <br />Adjournment: Meeting was adjourned at 4:30 p.m. <br />Submitted by <br />Denise Kornegay, Secretary <br />
