JOINT ELECTION AGREEMENT <br />between <br />The Paris Independent School District (the District) <br />and <br />The City of Paris, Texas (the City) <br />BY THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT, the District and the City do hereby agree, pursuant to <br />the provisions of the Chapter 271, Texas Election Code, to hold a joint election on the uniform election <br />date required to be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016. <br />The District (Place 2) and the City (Districts 1 and 2) agree to share the Red River Valley Fair Grounds <br />(Event Center), 1875 Fitzhugh, Paris, Texas 75460, as the common polling location on election day. <br />The District (Places 3 and 7) and the City (Districts 3 and 6) agree to share the Lamar County <br />Courthouse Annex (County Services Building), 231 Lamar Avenue, Paris, Texas 75460, as the <br />common polling location on election day. <br />The District and the City will hold early voting at the Lamar County Courthouse Annex (County <br />Services Building), 231 Lamar Avenue, Paris, Texas 75460. <br />Both entities have contracted with Lamar County to provide electronic voting equipment that meets the <br />requirements of the Texas Election Code and the federal Help America Vote Act, the ES &S <br />AutoMARK machines, to be utilized at each polling site. <br />The District and the City will share election judges and clerks and will equally share responsibility for <br />compensation of election officers. All entities will share electronic voting machines as previously <br />detailed. Both entities will share election supplies and associated cost. <br />The District and the City name the Elections Administrator as the custodian of election records in the <br />elections services contract. <br />The District and the City shall be separately responsible for their own election orders, resolutions, <br />notices, justice department submissions, official canvass and other necessary documents for adoption <br />by the appropriate board or council. <br />
