Paris Public Library Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />January 20, 2016 <br />Opening: <br />The regular meeting of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board was called to order at 4:00 p.m. <br />Present: <br />Board members present were Fran Neeley, Connie Dodd, Denise Komegay, Rebecca Umphrey, Daisy <br />Harvill, Carol James, and director Priscilla McAnally. Mike Pendleton was absent. <br />I. Approval of Minutes <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously approved as presented. <br />II. New Business: <br />Roof Repair <br />There are several leaks that require immediate attention, but the entire roof needs to be <br />repaired. The cost to repair the entire roof is approximately $40,000. Quality Roofing has <br />submitted a bid for $11,900 to repair a portion of the roof. Ms. McAnally asked to share the <br />cost of this partial repair with the Expendable Fund. There are some budget funds for <br />building and maintenance repair, but there is not enough to cover the roof and other repairs <br />that could be needed by the end of the budget year. <br />Motion to use $6,000 from the Expendable Fund was made by Connie Dodd and seconded <br />by Daisy Harvill. Motion passed unanimously. <br />III. Old Business: <br />None <br />IV. Presentations <br />A. Budget Report. <br />Approximately 50% of the library's materials budget has been spent. <br />B. Statistical Report. <br />Both circulation and visits are below last year. Circulation decreased 10.7 %, and visits <br />decreased by 5.08 %. Volunteer hours and new library cards are up. <br />V. Friends of the Library: <br />No report from the Friends this month. <br />VI.
