Minutes <br />Traffic Commission <br />City of Paris <br />The Traffic Commission met on Tuesday February 02, 2016 at 5:15 P.M. in the <br />Municipal Courtroom with the following members present: <br />1. Barry Shiver <br />2. Jimmy Hodges <br />3. Wendell Moore <br />4. Stephen Engelhardt (5:23pm) <br />5. Bill Sanders <br />The city staff was represented by Asst. Chief Randy Tuttle <br />Mr. Shiver called the meeting to order at 5:15pm. A quorum was established with <br />four members present. Mr. Engelhardt arrived at 5:23pm <br />Mr. Shiver then moved to item #2 concerning the approval of minutes from the <br />December 01, 2015 meeting. Mr. Sanders made a motion to approve minutes <br />with a second from Mr. Moore. Motion carried 4 -0. <br />Mr. Shiver moved to item #3 regarding the discussion and possible action <br />concerning the placement of a No Parking Zone in 100 block E. Brame St. Mr. <br />Tuttle informed members that a No Parking Zone had recently been on the north <br />side of 100 Brame St. but staff learned that this No Parking Zone was not on the <br />traffic control map and there was no ordinance in place. Mr. Tuttle stated a <br />citizen requested the No Parking Zone remain in place due to being unable to <br />back from his drive because of parked vehicles on that side of the street. Mr. <br />Tuttle said street parking is allowed on south side of Brame St. After discussion <br />Mr. Sanders made a motion to place the No Parking Zone on north side of Brame <br />St. between S. Main and S. Church. Motion was second by Mr. Hodges and it <br />carried 4 -0. <br />Mr. Shiver then moved to Item #4 regarding discussion and possible action <br />concerning the placement of a No Parking Zone in 4200 block of Bonham St. Mr. <br />Tuttle informed members that Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) had <br />recently opened a new office at this location and they are now conducting <br />commercial vehicle inspections at this location. Tuttle stated DPS Sgt. Kain <br />recently contacted the Police Department and reported there were commercial <br />vehicles parking on the road in front of the office creating a traffic hazard. There <br />is plenty of parking at the DPS office and Sgt. Kain requested that consideration <br />be given to placing a No Parking Zone in front of the DPS office to prevent <br />
