Special Meeting Minutes CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION 107 E. Kaufman St Paris,TX 4:00 P.M. MONDAY, March 28, 2016 Commissioners Present: Absent: Matt Frierson- Council Liaison Ruth Ann Alsobrook- Chair Phillip Peeples Pat Conrad Guests: Chris Dux Joseph Matthews Linda Knox Sarah Barbee Cindy Allcorn- Secretary, Vice Chair John Godwin, City Manager Cheri Bedford, BPO 1. Commissioner Alsobrook called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. Quorum present. 2. Approval of minutes from previous meeting (March 9, 2016) e Action taken: Commissioner Pe #les motioned to approve the minutes from March 9, 2016 as presented, seconded by Commissioner Dux, Motion carried 7 -0 3. Discussion and possible action on the following certificate of appropriateness: a. COA #2016 -010 222 Clarksville St, Tropical Sno Paris, Joseph Matthews Action taken: Mr. Matthews presented pictures and a site plan for the Topical Sno stand to the commissioners. The placement of the stands meets all the setbacks according to the code of ordinances. Commissioner Dux motioned to approve the addition of the Tropical Sno Stand to the district with the condition that the Ice machine be hidden from view with a privacy fence and Mr. Matthews select an appropriate color for the structure from the approved historic color palate. Commissioner Peoples seconded, motion carried 7 -0 4. Discussion of recommended Land Uses to be deleted from the Central Area Zoning District. John Godwin, City Manager. Action Taken: City Manager presented the list of recommended deletions including the comments from the planning and zoning. The presentation was for discussion only to receive feedback from the commission. After some discussion, Commissioner Dux made a motion to support the recommendations as presented, seconded by Commissioner Peoples seconded, motion carried 7 - 0,
