Minutes <br />Traffic Commission <br />City of Paris <br />The Traffic Commission met on Tuesday March 01, 2016 at 5:15 P.M. in the <br />Municipal Courtroom with the following members present: <br />1. Susan Hamby <br />2. Bill Sanders <br />3. Wendell Moore <br />4. Stephen Engelhardt <br />The city staff was represented by Asst. Chief Randy Tuttle. <br />In the absence of Chairman and Vice - Chairman, Ms. Hamby called the meeting <br />to order at 5:23pm. A quorum was established with four members present. <br />Ms. Hamby moved to item #2 concerning the approval of minutes from the <br />February 02, 2016 meeting. Mr. Engelhardt made a motion to approve minutes <br />with a second from Mr. Moore. Motion carried 4 -0. <br />Ms. Hamby moved to item #3 regarding the discussion and possible action <br />concerning recommendation to TXDOT the construction of sidewalk in 2300 <br />block N. Main. Interim City Attorney Stephanie Harris informed members that the <br />city had entered into an ADA mediation agreement and part of this agreement <br />was to instruct the Traffic Commission to request TXDOT to build the sidewalk in <br />question. Mr. William Conder presented to members he travelled this particular <br />route to access stores and the mobility device he uses for transportation often <br />gets stuck in the soft dirt and mud. Mr. Conder said the area he was speaking of <br />was in front of a residence south of Catfish King. Mr. Engelhardt made a motion <br />to request TXDOT construct a sidewalk at the location in 2300 block N. Main with <br />a second from Mr. Moore. Motion carried 4 -0. <br />Ms. Hamby then moved to Item #4 regarding old business. Mr. Tuttle reported to <br />members that he had the traffic department review the locations of 1 st SW & <br />Sherman along with 1 st NW & Bonham concerning the request at February 2016 <br />meeting about proper markings on streets at these locations. The traffic <br />department reported that both locations were properly striped and marked <br />according to standards. <br />Ms. Hamby then moved to item #5 future agenda items. Mr. Engelhardt stated he <br />would like to see the city place bicycle routes within the city and would like for <br />this to be included in future plans and discussions. <br />
