KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />TUESDAY, MAY 31, 2016 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />A G E N D A <br />Call meeting to order. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (April 19, 2016) <br />Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition of Lamar Avenue Church of Christ <br />on all of Lot 1, City Block 314, being located at 3535 Lamar Avenue. <br />A. Section 28 -6 (a)(1) of the Sign Ordinance which provides that "Billboards shall be <br />permitted in areas zoned Light Industrial (LI) and Heavy Industrial (HI). A request for a <br />zoning change shall not be accepted solely for the purpose of installing a billboard. No <br />billboard shall be permitted in areas zoned as scenic or historic overlay." The applicant's <br />property is zoned Commercial (C) and Single - Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2). <br />B. Section 28 -6 (d)(1) of the Sign Ordinance which provides that "No billboard shall be <br />permitted on any property that is located inside Loop 286." The applicant's property is <br />located inside Loop 286. <br />C. Section 28 -6 (d)(2) of the Sign Ordinance which provides that "No billboard shall be <br />permitted within two thousand (2,000) feet of another billboard to the closest supporting <br />pole of the proposed billboard." The applicant's proposed billboard is within two thousand <br />(2,000) feet of another billboard. <br />D. Section 28 -6 (d)(5) of the Sign Ordinance which provides that "Except as provided herein, <br />billboards shall not be placed within five hundred (500) feet of other permanent signs." The <br />applicant's proposed billboard is within five hundred (500) feet of other permanent signs. <br />E. Section 28 -6 (d)(7) of the Sign Ordinance which provides that "No part of a billboard shall <br />be located closer than one thousand (1,000) feet to any property zoned or used for <br />residential purposes, nor closer than three hundred (300) feet to any hotel, motel, nursing <br />home, or other property used for sleeping or lodging purposes." The applicant's proposed <br />billboard is within one thousand (1,000) feet of a residential zoning district and within <br />three hundred (300) feet of a hotel. <br />F. Section 28 -6 (d)(8) of the Sign Ordinance which provides that "No portion of a billboard <br />shall be located closer than fifteen (15) feet to the right -of -way for existing streets or <br />highways, or those projected in the city's thoroughfare plan." The applicant's proposed <br />billboard is approximately within the fifteen (15) feet from the right -of -way. <br />
