Call meeting to order at 4:02 p.m. 4:00 P.M. Absent: Council Liaison Matt Frierson Cindy Allcorn Guest: Barbara Wilson Barbara Steely Skipper Steely David Alarid 2. A motion was made to approve the meeting minutes of the April 25, 2016 meeting by Philip Peeples, seconded by Chris Dux, Motion Carried 6 -0 3. COA 2016 - 022 -104 Bonham St, Mr. David Alarid, Mr. Alarid informed the commission that the faVade on the front of the building is from the 1980's. He is working with a reviewer from the THC on receiving historic tax credits and provided historic photos, current pictures and elevation of the property. His plan is fully restoring the faVade back to the 1916 configuration. Commissioner Dux noted that the current investigative demo revealed brick infill in places where there were windows. Mr. Dux asked if he was going to use wooden windows as replacement, and Mr. Alarid confirmed that he was going to use the wooden windows where necessary and not all windows needed replacement. Mr. Alarid confirmed that he has stabilized the western wall of the building. No other questions were asked. Commissioner Dux made a motion to approve the restoration of the facade to the 1916 configuration as stated in the design standards page 21 that renovations of historic buildings should be returned to original appearance. Seconded by Commissioner Knox, Motion Carried 6 - 0 4. HPC Report: a. Administratively Approved COA's COA #2016 -013- 1095 ls` SW ST. Paint exterior of house. HC -166 and HC -169 COA #2016 -015 122 Bonham, Paint Canopy HC 84, and HC 124 COA #2016 -018- Sign 114 1 ST St. S.E COA #2016 -019 201 Bonham and 204 Grand Roof repair and window glass COA #2016 -020 847 S. Church St. Painting Front Door- HC -61 New London Burgundy COA #2016-021841 S, Church St. Painting the main body of the house- HC- Monticello Rose Cheri Bedford asked the commissioners to make a date for the place matters campaign for Preservation month the following week. Commissioner Conrad stated she would be interested in the Ragin Cajun Restaurant, and Royal Barber Shop and the Blue Grass building on Hearn Street. Commissioner Knox will get the paragraph for the Union Station and the Public Library. Cheri Bedford will send out an email contacting everyone for pictures next week. No action taken. 5. Robert Talley, Code enforcement officer presented houses that would be to buildings and standards commission for review. a. 738 NE 5th Demo b. 151 SE 23rd Demo c. 205 NE 10th Repair & Secure d. 2545 Ridgeview Repair Commissioner Dux made a motion to send all houses through to the buildings and standards as recommended by the Code Enforcement officer, Seconded by Commissioner Peeples. Motion carried 6 - 0 6. Commissioner Peeples gave a Main Street report on Farmers Market, Movies in the Park, and kiosk for wayfinding from civic center and downtown and downtown shopping. 7. Future Agenda Item: Commissioner Dux asked for discussion on ways the commission could help in informing people they live in or are about to purchase property in the Historic Districts. Hearing no other items, Commissioner Alsobrook called for a motion to adjourn, Commissioner Dux made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Commissioner Peeples.
