The Airport Advisory Board meeting was called to order by Dennis Ashby, Chairman, at
S: 30 p. m.
A. The following members were present: Dennis Ashby, Anna Spencer, Gary
Tolleson, Paula Portugal and Matt Birch.
B. The following members were absent: Tim Bullock and Chris Fitzgerald
C. Also present: John Godwin, City Manager; Jerry Richey, Airport Manager;
Stephanie Harris, City Attorney; and Ashley Fendley, City Staff.
2. Approval of minutes from previous meeting. (February 18, 2016)
Motion was made by Paula Portugal, seconded by Matt Birch to approve the minutes from
February 18, 2016 meeting. Motion carried 5 -0.
3. Discussion regarding Wings Over Paris on May 14, 2016
John Godwin, City Manager stated that the Wings Over Paris Event will be Saturday, May
14, 2016 from 9am to 5pm. There will be food vendors, bounce houses, airplane rides, sky
divers and more. We will have a practice run on Friday, May 13, 2016 with a welcome
dinner for the pilots and sponsors. Mr. Godwin further stated that we are glad to have Kate
Kyer helping with the event. Mrs. Kyer has taken on the majority of the work getting the
performers and air boss for our event. The Airport Advisory Board was very pleased to
see how much has been accomplished with the Air Show.
4. Discussion and action regarding appointing members to a development sub - committee.
John Godwin, City Manager stated that the Paris Economic Development Corporation
wants to create a development sub - committee. Mr. Godwin stated that the Airport
Advisory Board needs to nominate two members for the sub - committee. Paula Portugal
and Anna Spencer volunteered for the sub - committee.
5. Request items for future agendas. Wings Over Paris Event
