A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS;
ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $17,057.05 FROM THE
DIVISION OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT, OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR,
FOR A HAZARDOUS MATERIALS /DIVE RESCUE PROJECT (NOS. 3042091
AND 2946902); AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF ANY AND ALL
DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR FILING APPLICATION OF SAID GRANT;
MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVSIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT;
AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris finds it in the best interest of the
citizens of Paris, Texas that the Hazardous Materials /Dive Rescue Project be operated for
the 2016 year; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris agrees that in the event of loss or
misuse of the Office of the Governor funds, the City Council of the City of Paris assures that
the funds will be returned to the Office of the Governor in full; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris designates A.J. Hashmi, Mayor, as the
grantee's authorized official. The authorized official is given the power to apply for, accept,
reject, alter or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all
things approved.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Paris accepts the grant in the amount
of $17,057.05 from the Division of Emergency Management, Office of the Governor for the
Hazardous Materials /Dive Rescue Project (Nos. 3042091 and 2946902).
