1. The Airport Advisory Board meeting was called to order by Dennis Ashby, Chairman, at
5: 30 p. m.
A. The following members were present: Dennis Ashby, Anna Spencer, Gary
Tolleson, Paula Portugal, Tim Bullock and Matt Birch.
B. The following members were absent: Chris Fitzgerald
C. Also present: John Godwin, City Manager; Jerry Richey, Airport Manager; A.J.
Hashmi, City Council; and Ashley Fendley, City Staff.
2. Approval of minutes from previous meeting. (April 21, 2016)
Motion was made by Gary Tolleson, seconded by Paula Portugal to approve the minutes
from April 21, 2016 meeting. Motion carried 6 -0.
3. Report from John Godwin, City Manager.
John Godwin, City Manager stated that the PEDC put together a subcommittee between
the Airport Advisory Board, Chamber of Commerce and the City Council. We had our
first meeting on Thursday, June 2, 2016 and it was a positive meeting to start off. Gary
Tolleson asked if the construction of the new TxDOT Aviation hangars would be started
in 2017. Jerry Richey stated he does not believe it's looking very good for next year. John
Godwin stated he has not heard any news on the issue.
4. Discussion regarding the Wings Over Paris Event.
Dennis Ashby stated that it was a great airshow. John Godwin stated that the event was a
success. However, there are things to improve for next year. Ashley Fendley stated that we
brought in a little over $5,000 dollars on parking and about $1,200 on t -shirt sales.
5. Requested items for future agendas. PEDC meeting updates
