Minutes of Regular Meeting
Paris - Lamar County Board of Health
The Pans - Lamar County Board of Health held a Regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 18th, 2016.
Board members in attendance were Mr. Bill Collins, Dr. Rick Erickson, Sharmila Franklin, Dr. Mark Gibbons, and Dr. Marc
White. Board members not in attendance were Nancy Stallings and Dr. Robert White. Others in attendance were Mrs. Gina
Prestridge and Ms. Cheryl King.
Mr. Collins called the meeting to order in open session at 5:30 p.m.
Dr. Marc White, was introduced as the newest board member replacing Dr. Keith House and fills the veterinary position.
Dr. Gibbons made the motion and was seconded by Mrs. Franklin to approve the minutes from the prior meeting. All
approved.
Mrs. Prestridge advised the board on the following items /subjects:
• Malpractice Policy and Approval — Dr. Erickson will get the dollar amounts.
• Medicaid and Medicare applications — still pending for another 7 -10 days
• Epidemiologist Opening — Mohammad Sadath returned to Houston and 2 interns applied for the
remaining term of the grant. PLCHD hired Nitin Ghadge.
• June reports —
o WIC Services 1380 clients served (128) drive thru
0 477 Clinical clients served
0 58 restaurant inspected with 3 complaints
0 8 septic systems inspected with 0 complaints and
0 0 rabies cases.
• Electing of New Officers postponed until all members are present.
• Total liability and equity is $648,311.46
The next regular meeting would be August 15th, 2016, at 5:30 p.m. at the Paris - Lamar County Health District.
Business to be discussed and possibly action taken on at next meeting:
• Inspection of Public Swimming Pools,
• Fee Schedule, and
• Hiring of Contract Employee
• Elect New Officers
Mr. Collins made the motion and was seconded by Dr. Gibbons for the meeting to be adjourned at 5:50 p.m. All approved.
