SUBJECT: Vacancy on Historic Preservation Commission

BACKGROUND: The Historic Preservation Commission has a vacancy in the space reserved
for the Main Street Advisory Board member due to the resignation of Commissioner Phillip
Peeples from both the Main Street Advisory Board and the Historic Preservation Commission.
STATUS OF ISSUE: At the regularly scheduled Main Street Advisory Board meeting on
September 13, 2016 the board discussed who would be interested in serving in this capacity and
nominated a replacement for Mr. Peeples. Main Street Advisory Board Member Ms. Leah Rolen
expressed a desire to serve in that capacity. The board voted unanimously to recommend Ms.
Leah Rolen to fill the seat reserved for the Main Street Advisory Board member on the Historic
Preservation Commission.
BUDGET: N/A
RECOMMENDATION: Appoint Ms. Rolen to the Historic Preservation Commission to fill the
seat reserved on the Commission for a member of the Main Street Advisory Board.
