Item No. 15 <br />memorandum <br />TO: City Council <br />John Godwin, City Manager <br />FROM: Randy Tuttle, Assistant Chief of Police <br />SUBJECT: STOP SIGNS <br />DATE: October 12, 2016 <br />BACKGROUND: The City of Paris Traffic Commission received a request that stop signs be <br />installed at 16th NE & Van Zandt after Traffic Department received complaints that intersection <br />was unsafe. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: On October 11, 2016 the City of Paris Traffic Commission met to consider <br />the request to place stop signs at the intersection of 16th NE & Van Zandt. Yield signs had been <br />erected at this intersection several years ago and there is no ordinance in place for them. Traffic <br />Commission recommended stop signs be placed on 16th NE at intersection of Van Zandt <br />stopping north and south bound traffic. <br />BUDGET: $200.00 <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve change of official traffic control map to place stop signs as <br />recommended by Traffic Commission. <br />
