Minutes of Regular Meeting
Paris - Lamar County Board of Health
The Paris - Lamar County Board of Health held a Regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, August 15th, 2016.
Board members in attendance were Mr. Bill Collins, Dr. Rick Erickson, Sharmila Franklin, Dr. Mark Gibbons, Dr. Marc White,
Nancy Stallings and Dr. Robert White. Others in attendance were Mrs. Gina Prestridge.
Mr. Collins called the meeting to order in open session at 5:30 p.m.
Dr. Gibbons made the motion and was seconded by Dr. White to approve the minutes from the prior meeting. All approved
with a correction to change Keith House to Marc White on board members in attendance.
Dr. White made the motion and was seconded by Dr. Gibbons to elect Mr. Bill Collins as Chairman. All approved.
Dr. White made the motion and was seconded by Mrs. Stallings to elect Dr. Gibbons as Vice - Chairman. All approved.
Dr. White made the motion and was seconded by Dr. Gibbons to elect Dr. Erickson as Secretary. Al approved.
Mrs. Prestridge advised the board on the following itemstsubjects:
• Malpractice Policy — explained what it involved and updates.
• Medicaid and Medicare applications — TPI number should be good to go.
• Pool inspections, fees, regulations — code 2017 starting 01/01/2017. Hire contract employee, train
in Tyler. It is a public initiative. Dr. Gibbons made the motion and was seconded by Mr. Collins. All
approved.
• Budget including longevity and COLA — go to budget hearing. All in favor. Dr. Erickson stated that
we could just produce a budget.
• July reports —
o WIC Services 1345 clients served (89) drive thru
0 306 Clinical clients served
0 29 restaurant inspected with 1 complaint
0 9 septic systems inspected with 1 complaint and
0 0 rabies cases.
• Total liability and equity is approximately $600,000.00
The next regular meeting would be September 19th, 2016, at 5:30 p.m. at the Paris - Lamar County Health District.
Business to be discussed and possibly action taken on at next meeting:
• United Way poverty simulation, entire staff participated.
• Executive Director Salary/Bonus
Dr. Robert White made the motion and was seconded by Dr. Marc White for the meeting to be adjourned at 6:00 p.m. All
approved.
